The Witcher 3 has finally received its next-gen update, making the critically-acclaimed RPG look and play better than ever before. In addition to improved visuals and performance, CD Projekt Red went the extra mile and implemented brilliant player-made mods into the game.
What makes this next-gen update more interesting is that the mods will also be on the PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. Prior to this update, these mods were only in the PC version so this is a huge boon for console owners.
In addition to all of this, a last-gen update for The Witcher 3 is also coming to PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Admittedly, we don’t think that it will come with all of these mods but the last-gen versions are expected to get some of the Netflix DLC and minor improvements.
On the official website of The Witcher, patch notes for the next-gen update were released. In addition to all of the improvements being made, the notes also include some of the mods that are already in the game.
Here are some of the mods that will be a part of The Witcher 3 after the next-gen update:
- The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project by HalkHogan
- HD Monsters Reworked by Denroth
- Immersive Real-time Cutscenes by teiji25
- Nitpicker's Patch by chuckcash
- World Map Fixes by Terg500
Right now, it’s not yet known if these are the only mods in the game or if there are even more mods in the game. PC players will obviously still be able to add more mods, given the nature of PC gaming, but this is likely the limit for console users.
No matter how you look at it, these mods are going to make The Witcher 3 a better game for everyone involved. It’s going to be fun seeing gamers replay the title, now that it has better visuals and stunning performance.
The Witcher 3 is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
