Turgle is the best new Star Wars character, and Lucasfilm knows it

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor may have one of the best Star Wars stories in decades, but it also has something far more important: Turgle.

A humanoid frog-person that lives on the planet Koboh, Turgle may look like a little freak, but he has a freaky little heart of gold, and everyone has fallen in love with the fictional frogbro.

In response to Turgle’s overwhelming critical acclaim, in some places more than the actual game, developer Respawn Entertainment has released an accolades video for Star Wars’ new most beloved character.

On the EA Star Wars Twitter account, a video of the frequently bullied, creepy-gaited frogman was shred. In the video, we can see a number of reviews praising the character as the greatest thing since George Lucas decided not to call Yoda “Minch”.

“A breakout star!l reads a GameSpot review as the chummy frog is launched onto the ground by one of the game’s villains Rayvis. “An endearing little weirdo,”reads another.

Despite being a relatively minor character throughout the events of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Turgle certainly leaves an impression. Whether it’s his high-pitched voice, or the way he walks like a character who’s mo-cap doesn’t quite translate to a character without any hips, or his weird thin lips, you’ll always remember him.

It’s clear that Turgle is a character that Star Wars fans won’t be forgetting anytime soon. Some may want to protect him at all costs, others may want to grind him into a fine dust and snort him. Whatever the case: he will remain in our memories for years to come.

Of course, no matter what Respawn Entertainment does, Turgle will not beat the absolute king of Star Wars characters: Max Rebo. I mean, how could he? A hipless frog versus a cool Jizz-wailer that plays music with his chunky elephant legs. The deck is absolutely stacked in favour of the Jizziphant, and we all know it.

Nevertheless, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has been a sales success, and we attribute it all to Turgle. While it does have a large number of technical issues, especially on PC, the game is one of the best Star Wars games we’ve ever played.

As the second game in a proposed trilogy, Jedi: Survivor leaves a lot of space to go. Perhaps in the third game we’ll get Darth Turgle. There’s something fishy about him, we know it.
