Tom Hiddleston comments on the future of playing Loki


Tom Hiddleston spoke about his long-term plans for the character Loki in an interview with Entertainment Weekly recently .

Hiddleston has played Loki for ten years, originally appearing in 2011’s Thor. Since then, the character has featured in a number of films, and continues to play an important role in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe. 

Hiddleston’s last appearance as Loki was in 2019 during Avengers: Endgame, helping the team with the time heist.

Loki also steals the Tesseract in Endgame, creating an alternative timeline for the character. The show will explore an alternative timeline in Disney’s upcoming Loki TV series, which will air on Disney+ next month. 

Entertainment Weekly Interview

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly about the upcoming series, he said he is “open to everything,” moving forward with the character.

“I’m open to everything. I have said goodbye to the character. I’ve said hello to the character. I said goodbye to the character (again). I’ve learned not to make assumptions, I suppose,”added Hiddleston.

Hiddlestone, who has played the character for over a decade, is grateful for his time for the character: “I’m just grateful that I’m still here, and there are still new roads to explore.”

Loki

Disney’s upcoming Loki series will feature six episodes about the popular character. The series will take place following the events of Endgame and follow the character as he influences historical events throughout time.

The show will also explore Loki’s character, going into the character’s history as an adopted child and the anger and spite he feels towards his family. 

It’s also rumoured that Loki could appear in the upcoming Thor Love And Thunder film that’s scheduled to release next year.
