Tobey Maguire Spider-Man 3 return hinted at once again

A recent radio interview by Marvel voice actor Roger Pera hints at a potential Tobey Maguire return in Spider-Man: 3 No Way Home.

The internet collectively geeked out last year when rumours appeared online that Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland could all appear in the next Spider-Man film.

Spider-Man himself, Tom Holland spoke with Jimmy Fallon about the rumours a few months ago denying the rumoured cameos: “I’ve read the script from beginning to the end, so it'll be a miracle if they could've kept that from me. But, at the moment, there is no cameo from the two boys."

Although the stars were quick to shoot the rumours down, fans have persisted in the search for potential leaks.

Roger Pera Interview

Toby Maguire’s Spanish dub voice actor, Roger Pera recently spoke with El Sótano del Planet, a Spanish podcast channel. The host asked Pera if he was going to appear in any upcoming Spidey-related projects.

Pera replied to the question with: “There was a moment when I thought: This is fake. But yes, this is going to happen, I don’t know when, but we are going to work on it.”

This doesn’t necessarily mean that Tobey Maguire could return in Spider-Man 3: Far From Home, as there are other properties in which multiple Spider-Mans could return.

Sony took the original interview excerpt down, but numerous fans preserved the audio online.

Into The Spider-Verse 2

It’s far more likely that Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland could make a cameo in the upcoming Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse 2.

Scheduled to release late next year, the sequel to the wildly successful Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse could easily incorporate all three Spider-Man renditions alongside Miles Morales.

The rumoured multiverse crossover may also include Willem Dafoe as the Green Goblin. It would be the first time Dafoe has appeared in a Spider-Man role since his appearance in 2002’s Spider-Man with Tobey Maguire.
