Switch-inspired Aya Neo is available now on Indiegogo

The Switch inspired Aye Neo handheld gaming PC is now available on independent funding website Indiegogo, with the first tier of backing costing roughly £625.

The Aye Neo handheld gaming PC aims to mix the portability of the Nintendo Switch with the raw horsepower of PC gaming. The console is available on Indiegogo now, and the first shipments of the Aye Neo are expected to go out around April or May time.

An initial batch of founders consoles were released during January, and this new version comes with a number of revisions including an improved operating system, better buttons, better power consumptions and reduced weight.

Aye Neo Specs

The Ayo Neo packs a punch, mixing a 6 core AMD Ryzen 5 4500U and an AMD Radeon graphics card. While the product page doesn’t specify which graphics card the Aye Neo holds, it does aim to run a number of recent AAA video games at above 30fps - placing it ahead of last gen’s base consoles in terms of raw performance.

The condensed PC console also features 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM, three USB-C ports, a 7-inch 1280x800 IPS display and up to 6 hours of estimated battery life. That battery life will vary though, as numerous users of the founders edition found that more demanding titles like CyberPunk 2077 ran for around two hours before needing a charge.

The Indiegogo page features a diagram showing the kind of performance players can expect on certain titles, with games like Devil May Cry 5, Resident Evil 3, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Yakuza 0 running at 60fps. More demanding games like CyberPunk 2077, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, Hitman 2 and Red Dead Redemption running anywhere between 30-60fps.

Aye Neo Price and Release

There are currently two models available to back through the campaign. There’s a 500gb model which costs £626, or if you would prefer more storage, there’s also a 1tb model for £691. Once the Indiegogo campaign ends, those models will cost around 10% more, so you can expect both models to sit close to £700 and £800.

If you do want to back the campaign, you can expect your Aye Neo to be shipped around May time. The campaign is global, so you can order the portable gaming PC regardless of which region you live in.
