Starfield is going to be the game many buy an Xbox Series X or S for. As if recent console sales weren’t enough, the recent gameplay showcase was also the most-viewed online show ever for Xbox.

Xbox Wire confirmed that the double feature of Starfield gameplay and Xbox Games Showcase resulted in their most-viewed online show. The post says over 92 million viewers tuned into both shows, which is a 38% increase from last year’s show.

While Starfield is one of the reasons these shows did so well, Xbox was quick to tout their upcoming exclusives. Fable, Forza Motorsport, and Hellblade 2 were highlighted alongside some third-party games like Star Wars Outlaws and Cities: Skylines 2.

It’s been a major few months for Microsoft and the Xbox brand. Microsoft will be able to successfully purchase Activision Blizzard, albeit, with a 10-year Call of Duty deal for Sony. The company also announced that Xbox Live Gold would merge with Game Pass for Xbox Game Pass Core.

However, a lot of the hype really is just for Starfield. Xbox recently replaced Halo with the sci-fi RPG on the back of Series X console boxes, acknowledging fan admiration. Fans have also dedicated a lot of time to the RPG, with one fan making a 1000-page bible about it.

After years of poor sales and constant issues for Xbox, Starfield could be the start of something special for the company. Alongside huge launches of games like Fable, Forza Motorsport, and, eventually, Perfect Dark, we could be on the verge of an Xbox renaissance. Let’s hope the brand can keep up its momentum.
