Many consider the release of Starfield to be an event, to the point that fans are taking a day off from work to play it. Bethesda has been hyping the game up for a very long time and we can’t blame fans for wanting to get their hands on it.

On the game’s official subreddit, a post that quickly gained a lot of comments asked others if they were planning to take a day off for the game’s launch. Hilariously, many fans confirmed that they’re not just taking breaks from work but from family holidays as well. That’s the power of a new Bethesda RPG.

“Pre-ordered for early access, took Friday off, and have Monday off for Labor Day,” said HueyMcSqueezy. “Told my wife if we have any family plans for Labor Day weekend I hope she and our son have fun doing them.”

“I asked my boss, he was super understanding, even pre-ordered the game for me. Super standup guy. I work for myself but still,” hilariously said by chocolateshakes.

“I took Friday and Tuesday off. 5 straight days of starfield,” said Acrobatic_Ad6374.

Excitement for Starfield is at an all-time high and we can’t exactly blame fans for feeling that way. Bethesda managed to win fans over with its excellent gameplay showcase, showing all the cool and silly things possible in the game. Needless to say, it blew everyone out of the water and fans are now skipping important days just to play it early.

Hilariously, there was a rumour that Japan only releases Dragon Quest games on weekends so that fans don’t skip work or school to play them. While this always remained a rumour, it is fun to see just how influential a video game can be to the mainstream media. Although not quite there yet, it’s clear that diehard Bethesda fans are treating this space-themed RPG similarly.
