Starfield is the game that sci-fi fans have wanted for years but some also want it to be harder. That’s why some fans are going to give themselves a self-imposed nuzlocke challenge to make things more challenging.

For those unfamiliar with the term “nuzlocke challenge,” it was popularized by Pokémon fans who want more of a challenge. A nuzlocke means self-imposed rules to make the game harder, like releasing all Pokémon that “die.”

On the Starfield subreddit, a fan posted about penalizing themselves for any deaths they might face and asking for suggestions. While the user doesn’t want permadeath, they feel that turning off autosave and only saving in outposts will help with that.

The other suggestions include removing all scrap/currency when dying, which is a huge penalty. After all, players can buy ships and sandwiches in the game’s messed-up economy so losing all of that would be a major hit.

Penalties like these aren’t for all Starfield fans, as most of them just want to explore space. Granted, they also want their ships to be boarded by enemies and apartments in various planets, but they also want to explore.

Now that doesn’t mean these players don’t want a challenge. Some fans shared their concerns over the jetpacks making combat too easy. It will be interesting to see what the game’s default difficulty levels are like when the final product is out.

Obviously, this is just a couple of players who want the game to be more difficult, so no one has to follow these. At the end of the day, this is a video game anyone can buy and they’re allowed to play it how they want.

Fans are just excited to get their hands on Starfield, as it looks like the biggest Bethesda RPG yet. All of this hype led to its gameplay showcase being the most-viewed Xbox show ever.
