Redfall Beta: main character Layla Ellison from Xbox exclusive RPG Redfall

As the first Xbox exclusive Bethesda game following 2021’s acquisition, there are a lot of eyes on Arkane’s Redfall. As Arkane’s debut into online multiplayer co-op, the vampire RPG is a game that many may wish to test. As such, a Redfall Beta may be planned.

New evidence reveals that there will be a beta period prior to the game’s release. If you’re looking for a chance to try the Xbox exclusive before release, this may be your first (and only) chance.

The possible beta was discovered on PC games marketplace Steam, where Microsoft also releases its games. However, no official beta announcement has been made.

Shared on Reddit, a recent EULA agreement was found for the unreleased Bethesda game. The legal document reveals that a beta period is planned, but it doesn’t reveal when the trial will start or end.

Unfortunately, the current version of the EULA doesn’t mention Redfall or Arkane specifically. However, the legal agreement is tied to “ZeniMax Media Inc”, the parent of Bethesda Softworks.

However, the EULA ID is for Steam App “1294810”. This is the same ID as Redfall’s listing on the Steam Store. Ergo, it’s for an upcoming Redfall Beta.

Redfall is a new game from Arkane’s Austin studio. This studio was the team behind the fantastic 2017 immersive sim RPG Prey. Hopefully, Redfall will be just as good, if not better, than that beloved title.

While the upcoming Xbox exclusive is designed around co-op gameplay, it’s not just a multiplayer game. As it turns out, the new RPG will be completely wholly in single player, although it’s not known if you’ll have to be online.

At the time of writing, Redfall is scheduled for an early 2023 release on Xbox Series consoles and PC. While the game will be available to purchase on Xbox and PC, it will also be available on Xbox Game Pass. Furthermore, the game will be playable on Xbox Cloud Gaming on mobile devices.
