The Pokémon TCG is one of the most accessible trading card games on the market, although it does have some complexities. To combat this, Pokémon TCG: My First Battle aims to be the best introduction to the game for younger fans.

Designed to be the “perfect introduction” to the card game, Pokémon My First Battle is a very cut down version of the TCG for child fans. This results in a smaller, simpler version of the card game using unique art versions of released cards.

For example, Pokémon TCG My First Battle includes two decks that are much smaller than typical ones. Instead of the strict 60 card requirement for the main TCG, this version includes two 17-card decks to get to grips with the rules.

The new package also includes two player mats, a rulebook, a big metal coin, damage counters and six prize tokens. In the standard game, prize tokens are simply six random cards from your 60 card deck. For a full deck list, check below:

My First Battle is an incredibly cheap entry product to the card game, which will definitely help parents buy the collection for younger fans. At just £9.99/$9.99, the Pokémon TCG starter box is a great way of getting kids into the long-running card game.

The new Pokémon card bundle comes just ahead of the upcoming Pokémon TCG Classic, a $399.99 bundle of classic cards. Of course, you’ll be able to nab a Charizard and Pikachu via this massive bundle.

The popularity of Pokémon cards is somehow bigger than it’s ever been. With IRL events such as the Van Gogh museum collaboration being destroyed by fans and scalpers, it’s almost as if PokéMania never left.

Pokémon TCG: My First Battle is available right now.
