The PSVR 2 is already a year old, which might come as a shock to many, including PlayStation itself. Despite launching with an expensive headset and a major Horizon tie-in game, and offering some of the best specs in a VR headset, the PSVR 2 has almost been forgotten by most people.

As one of the best VR headsets on the market, many are focusing on the PSVR 2 PC support, which is scheduled for sometime this year, making it able to play the best PCVR games. Unfortunately, the lack of content has led many to believe that console VR is a dead end.

However, there is good news for PSVR 2 owners. PlayStation has announced the upcoming Days of Play sale for 2024, an event that is held annually, and PSVR 2 players with an active PlayStation Plus Premium subscription can play the following games from the catalog:

  • Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord
  • Walkabout Mini Golf
  • Synth Riders
  • Before Your Eyes
  • The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapters 1 & 2

While the list doesn't include some of the best PSVR 2 games like Synapse or Horizon: Call of the Mountain, it at least gives you a chance to dust off your forgotten headset and play it again. Fortunately, Saints and Sinners Chapter 1, Walkabout Mini Golf, Synth Riders, and Before Your Eyes are among the best VR games available.

If you've been waiting for a good opportunity to pick up a PSVR 2 headset, now might be the best time too. As part of the Days of Play sale, PlayStation is offering a $100 discount on the PSVR 2 and the Horizon: Call of the Mountain bundle. There’s also a $50 discount on the PS5 Disc and Digital editions.

If you've been weighing the pros and cons between the Quest 3 and PSVR 2 and have decided to go for the latter, this could be a great time to invest in PlayStation's second-generation headset. However, you could also wait for the upcoming Sony XR headset, if that's more your style.
