It looks like Atlus is going to fire somebody as the trailers for Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Tactica were leaked ahead of this weekend's Xbox Showcase. These trailers also prove that the report about it premiering on Microsoft’s show was correct, as both of them are Xbox-branded videos.
Both videos were leaked on Atlus' Instagram before quickly being deleted but the damage was done and then some. Fans have since spread the video like wildfire and there just isn’t anything that Atlus can do about that.
Honestly, this is a shame, since having these games premiere on an Xbox show is a huge deal. The fact that both games are new titles and will immediately be available on Game Pass is also a huge shocker. Fans will remember that the previous trilogy were ports of older titles so their being on Game Pass wasn’t as impressive.
For fans worried about the game being Xbox-exclusive, Gematsu claims their sources said these titles are coming to other systems. Obviously, those systems weren’t named, but PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch seem obvious. Both games are coming out for Xbox One, after all.
We should also point out that Persona 3 Reload looks like an incredible remake. Although the fifth game’s influence is clearly there, the game keeps its own style and still has its own darker identity. Honestly, the fact that it has controllable party members is already a huge plus; everything else is just the cherry on top.
Though not as impressive, Persona 5 Tactica looks like another solid spin-off and another unique genre for the series-within-a-series to partake in. Strikers and Dancing in Starlight were already pretty decent spin-offs so here’s hoping three time’s the charm for P5.
A cutesy-styled tactical adventure set after the events of Persona 5, Tactica is certainly a unique entry in the series. While the Persona franchise is no stranger to spin-offs, it hasn't had a title quite like this before.
Persona 3 Reload comes to Xbox One, Xbox Series, and Microsoft Store in early 2024. Persona 5 Tactica comes to those same systems on November 17.
