Persona 3 and 4 Golden remastered are only worth playing on Xbox, not PS5

persona 3 4 remastered are only worth playing on xbox not ps5

The remastered versions of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden are finally coming to modern consoles this week. However, if you’re deciding between the PS5 and Xbox Series versions, it looks like Microsoft has the advantage with 4K and 120HZ playback on Xbox but not on PS5.

It’s actually somewhat baffling to hear that the Xbox Series versions are getting more love than the PS5 port. Xbox Series players already have the advantage of getting these games on day one in Game Pass, but the platform also has the best console version of both games.

Only time will tell if Atlus will update the PS5 versions of Persona 3 and Persona 4 to have higher resolution and better framerate. For now, it’s clear that home console owners will want to stick with the Xbox Series versions. Plus, we all know these games are better on Switch, due to the handheld factor.

According to The Mako Reactor (via Reddit), the PS5 versions of Persona 3 and Persona 4 are the same as the PS4 versions. This means that these games will be running at 1080p and 60fps at max. While these are still huge improvements over the PSP and PS Vita versions, it’s pretty disappointing for a current-gen system.

SEGA reportedly made the Xbox Series versions of these Persona games native to the console, which is probably they’re going to look better. Microsoft may have assisted in the development, as the company has a habit of making ports look and run better on their systems. It’s why Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Generations, also SEGA games, run amazingly on Xbox Series.

PS5 owners are probably bummed about the news since everyone wants the most powerful versions of these games. However, these are pretty old games and we doubt that the improved resolution and framerate will change things that much.
