All of these Yakuza game names are getting confusing, aren't they? Well, Sony seems to have fumbled and leaked details for a new entry in the series' universe on the PlayStation store. Oops.

An entry on PSdeals shows that Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Has No Name game is set to release on November 9, 2023.

PSdeals is a website that closely tracks the product listings and prices on the PlayStation store, and is as such usually an accurate source of information.

This leak is likely to be announced later on today at Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest opening night and subsequent events over the weekend, so expect more information and trailers soon.

The listing's description gives us a glimpse into what this entry will focus on.

"Once a legendary yakuza, Kazuma Kiryu faked his own death and abandoned his name for the sake of protecting his family. Now, he is thrust into conflict by a mysterious figure attempting to drive him out of hiding."

So, it seems Kiryu just can't escape his old life.

We're unsure at this stage whether the game will feature beat-em-up style combat or whether it will be turn-based. What we do know, however, is that Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Has No Name will bridge the timelines between Yakuza 6 and some of the other Like a Dragon games that, canonically, are set later in the timeline.

We're excited to be following Kiryu's story again when the next chapter of the series comes out this autumn.
