Leaked Will Smith and Margot Robbie Suicide Squad kiss image appears online

As fans continue to push Warner Brothers to release the Ayer cut of 2016’s Suicide Squad film, a leaked still of Margot Robbie and Will Smith’s characters kissing appeared online this week. The two characters shared on-screen chemistry, but it never progressed into anything further in the cinematic cut of the film.

Ayer, who has been public about his disapproval of the cinematic cut, originally spoke about his version of the film around the release of Suicide Squad: "I put my life into Suicide Squad, I made something amazing. My cut is [an] intricate and emotional journey with some bad people who are shit on and discarded (a theme that resonates in my soul). The studio cut is not my movie.”

With all the hype surrounding The Suicide Squad, people online are calling for Warner Brothers to release the Ayer cut. A Twitter account called ReleaseTheAyerCut with over 20,000 followers tweeted a picture of Harley Quinn and Deadshot kissing. The two characters were romantically involved in a number of comics, so it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to fans of the series.

Reactions to the leaked stills have been mixed so far. Some fans are praising the relationship, while others prefer to see Quinn as an independent character. Mixed reactions aside, the image has further stirred the pot of fans asking for the Ayer cut. There are over 300,000 people using the hashtag. This includes a mix of fans requesting the cut and other people revealing details about it.

This isn’t the first time fans have lobbied for a studio to release an alternative cut. Justice League, which originally released in 2017, was re-released earlier this year with an alternative cut from Zack Snyder. Commonly referred to as the Snyder cut, this version of Justice League changed some major plot points and was just over four hours long.
