Following the lead of Texas Chain Saw Massacre, another Dead by Daylight clone is digging up 80s horror mascots for more asymmetric multiplayer mayhem. Enter, Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game.

Developed by TeraVision Games,Killer Klowns from Outer Space is another multiplayer horror game that pits a team of survivors against another team of crazed killers.

In the new multiplayer game, a team of seven survivors will be placed in an arena against three Killer Klowns. The Klowns will be able to hunt down the humans of Crescent Grove with “zany” weapons, whilst humans scour for loot and objects to fight back with.

IllFonic has joined the development of the Killer Klowns game after a year of work by TeraVision games. The Predator: Hunting Grounds and Ghostbusters: Spirit Unleashed developer will help to bring the experience up to snuff, as well as assisting in publishing the game.

In the past, IllFonic also helped co-develop Gun Media’s Friday the 13th game, another Dead by Daylight clone. While critically well-regarded, that game is being shut down next year due to rights management issues.

At the time of writing, Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game will only release on PS5, Xbox Series and PC. While the title was originally announced for Xbox One and PS4 as well, those versions will not release alongside the newer console’s launch.

However, IllFonic has said that Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game are still in the works. After all, if Star Wars Jedi: Survivor can somehow come to last-gen hardware, Killer Klowns should be able to as well.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game is scheduled to launch sometime this year. Additionally, TeraVision and IllFonic are planning lengthy post-launch support for the game.

With the sheer number of Dead by Daylight clones on the market already, it will be interesting to see how popular the Killer Klowns game becomes.
