Powered by the most powerful Apple Silicon SoC ever made, the new iPhone 15 Pro is the most powerful phone Apple has ever made. Revealed at the 2023 Apple Event, the new device is an absolute beast.

Powered by the A17 Pro, the new SoC provides greater performance than any iPhone before it. Introducing a breakthrough GPU with a new shader redesign, the A17 Pro is a 3-nanometer chip a 6-core CPU that is 10% faster than last year’s A16. The Apple Neural Entine is also twice as fast for live machine learning technology without sending your data to a cloud server.

The A17 also comes with a dedicated engine for ProRes codecs and higher quality video decoding. Additionally, a new USB-C controller will allow for 10-gigabit transfer speeds to send ProRes footage to other devices.

With the A17 on iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, hardware accelerated ray-tracing will now be available on an iPhone as well as image reconstruction technology. With ray-tracing also coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, this isn’t too surprising.

Available in two forms, the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the new device is wrapped in a strong titanium chassis. Using Grade 5 titanium, the phone should survive any drop you can throw at it while also being very light.

The iPhone 15 Pro reinvents the classic silence button with an action button. Now, instead of clicking the switch, the action button allows you to launch apps or accessibility features

Bringing back the dynamic island now available in the base iPhone 15 and 15 Plus, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max has a persistent standby display and high framerate ProMotion support.

Additionally, the iPhone 15 Pro Max features super high resolution photos on the device’s brand-new camera sensor. Designed with pro photographers in mind, the cameras feature dynamic portrait mode depth control as well as focal length control. Additionally, a 5x telephoto lense has a 120mm focal length with an incredibly low 2.8f aperture with optical image stabilisation.

Apple has also included a new spatial video option to create 3D videos for Apple Vision Pro. This will allow you to look around in videos to feel like you’re truly there, if you purchase Apple’s expensive $3000 headset.

The iPhone 15 Pro launches at $999 for 128GB storage. Additionally, the iPhone 15 Pro Max launches at $1299 for 256GB storage.
