Veteran voice actor Steve Blum might be in the starring role for Insomniac’s Wolverine game for PlayStation 5. While details on the Sony exclusive remain slim, a video Blum posted on social media has made fans wonder if he’s returning to one of his most iconic roles.

On his Instagram, Steve Blum shared a video of him wearing a motion capture device. Blum claims that it’s for a video game role that he signed a non-disclosure agreement on, so it’s top secret. Naturally, this got fans on Reddit talking.

Interestingly enough, the Wolverine voice actor also namedropped Roger Craig Smith, who most fans know as Sonic the Hedgehog or Mirage from Apex Legends. Having Smith in the Wolverine game would be fun, especially if he’s someone like Sabretooth or Cyclops.

Despite plenty of speculation, there are no concrete clues of Steve Blum being in the Marvel game. Blum is in pretty much every video game and animated series out there, making this vague role hard to pin down. For example, this could be anything from the recently-announced Mortal Kombat 12, where he will likely play as Sub-Zero, or something else entirely.

However, there is a very good chance that he could be the title character in Marvel’s Wolverine. After all, he was just Wolverine in Midnight Suns, which also had Yuri Lowenthal as Spider-Man. Lowenthal has been Peter Parker since Marvel’s Spider-Man and there’s a small chance that Marvel wants some synergy for these video game projects.

Blum has also voiced the character in X-Men Legends, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, the Wolverine anime, and so much more. Most animation fans also adore Blum as Spike Spiegel in Cowboy Bebop, which is where he started becoming a major name in the VA industry. The actor was also Guilmon in Digimon Tamers, Orochimaru in Naruto, and Amon in The Legend of Korra, among other roles.
