It’s been a hot minute since Hogwarts Legacy was a major talking point but that could be ending soon. The Nintendo Switch version might finally have a release date, thanks to a South Korean retailer listing it.

According to a post from games retailer GameWoori, the Switch port is scheduled for a November 14 release. While this could be a placeholder post, these are usually left blank or have a ridiculous date like December 31.

Warner Bros. delayed the Switch version to this Fall so they could concentrate on the current-gen versions of the wizarding RPG. The current-gen versions actually took priority over last-gen ports, with the PS4 and Xbox One versions coming out a month later.

Considering how Hogwarts Legacy looks and plays well on current-gen systems, the Switch version has many curious. Switch owners are, unfortunately, used to watered-down ports of more powerful games and this could be one of them. Even first-party Nintendo games don’t always run well, as evidenced by Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

To play devil’s advocate, Warner Bros. has made pretty decent ports of their games for Switch. All of the LEGO titles play well since they’re geared towards a younger audience. Even Mortal Kombat 11, for all of its fuzzy visuals, is pretty playable once it’s all said and done.

Hopefully, they can do the same for Mortal Kombat 1 and Batman: Arkham Knight. It seems that this game will be the litmus test on how future ports from Warner Bros. will be like.

When Hogwarts Legacy first came out, the game was embroiled in a lot of controversy. Most of it was surrounding J.K. Rowling and her anti-transgender politics. Even with all of these issues, the game still sold well and will be one of the top-selling games at the end of this year.
