God of War Ragnarök looks to be an excellent sequel to an already thrilling game, with many fans excited to continue Kratos and Atreus’ story. Trophy hunters will be happy to know that the game’s Platinum Trophy can be earned in one thorough playthrough instead of multiple runs.

Considering how some games make finishing the campaign multiple times a trophy, the news will put a smile on the face of many completionists. Most gamers won’t be bothered by this if they simply want to play the game but this is still great news for those that don’t like replaying their games for petty achievements.

Sony has been making the task of getting a platinum trophy easier for their exclusives and God of War Ragnarök seems to be the latest example. While some hardcore gamers might complain about this, it’s an overall good move from the company.

All 35 trophies in God of War Ragnarök were revealed by Powerpyx, giving PlayStation users an example of what they’re in for. Interestingly, most of the trophies involve beating bosses, getting collectibles, and upgrading equipment, which is a nice surprise. Even better, there’s no trophy for beating the game on New Game Plus, assuming the title launches with that feature.

Some trophies are likely harder than others, depending on the difficulty of the bosses or how hard it is to find items. Players will likely have to spend a lot of time in the game if they want to get that Platinum Trophy but not needing to replay it when finished is a nice touch.

This isn’t the first time Sony has made getting trophies slightly easier for players. Marvel’s Spider-Man has one of the easiest Platinum Trophies to get, assuming players don’t mind completing and collecting everything. Meanwhile, The Last of Us Part 1 on PS5 had its trophies adjusted so they won’t be impossible to get like the PS3 and PS4 versions.
