High-profile leakers have revealed a potential Fortnite FPS mode release date for PC and console. Considering how Chapter 4 Season 2 could be coming out next week, we could get this highly-anticipated mode sooner rather than later.

The new mode will take the iconic third-person battle royale and allow you to play in a first-person view. Similar to games like Call of Duty: Warzone, Fortnite FPS mode could bring in a wealth of new options for players.

According to Hypex, a well-known leaker and dataminer, the rumoured first-person shooter mode will be coming sometime next season. While no timetable was given for the mode’s arrival, Epic Games could easily release it at the season’s launch to get fans pumped up.

Though all leaks should be taken with a grain of salt, Hypex has correctly leaked a ton of Fortnite information beforehand. Since the game is constantly being updated, it makes the game easier to datamine, hence so many of these leaks being correct.

Funnily enough, this isn’t the first time Epic Games has added a feature that makes Fortnite more like other online games. Or should we say, removing a feature? Prior to rumours of the Fortnite FPS mode coming, Epic Games added a mode that removes building, making it more in line with other battle royale shooters.

Even if Epic Games doesn’t add an FPS mode to the game, Fortnite will continue to be the most popular game on Earth. The game continues to be home to crossovers you wouldn’t get anywhere else, with characters from Marvel, DC, G.I. Joe, Naruto, My Hero Academia, and more unlockable.

Speaking of collaborations, leaks have claimed that Eren Yaeger from Attack on Titan will be coming to the popular Free-to-Play shooter. That’s not the only anime coming to the game, as Gohan and Piccolo from Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero are also on the way, at least according to leaks. Expect even more crossovers in the future as these aren’t even the most ridiculous ones anymore.
