Final Fantasy 16 may have done the impossible and created the best dog in all of video games. While there are plenty of good boys and girls across every genre of games, how many help you juggle opponents in the air for sick combos?

The game’s official Twitter shared a short but sweet video of this good boy helping protagonist Clive take care of a monster. Named Torgal, the fuzzy friend is capable of more than barking; the video shows him unleashing a number of impressive attacks, helping Clive combo the poor monster. At one point, Torgal turns into a ball of fire, dealing massive damage to the monsters.

Square Enix had previously hyped Torgal as a party member in Final Fantasy 16 that could heal Clive’s wounds and assist in attacks. Many assumed that the dog would just do the occasional lunge and bite but this takes it to another level. Witnessing Torgal send enemies to the air for Clive to slash on is incredible.

We think it’s fair to say that Torgal ranks fairly high in the list of helpful dogs in video games, if he doesn’t take the top list. Persona 3 does have Koromaru, a dog that can summon its other self to take down Shadows, so that’s pretty cool. Fallout 4 has Dogmeat, who is very good, even if he could be more useful. Cerberus from Hades is also pretty good, even if he’s only there to be petted by Zagreus.

Even if Torgal was a bad dog, a very bad dog, Final Fantasy 16 actually looks like a good time. Going back to a more medieval aesthetic has done wonders for the game’s identity, while the combat and premise look promising. Square Enix has also been hyping up how the PlayStation 5 made the game possible to begin with, so it might be best on Sony’s console.
