Dead Island 2 is impressing zombie fans with its impressive-looking “Flesh” system. Letting you obliterate the bodies of its terrifying undead walkers, the upcoming zombie FPS game will offer the most disgusting wound system in modern gaming.

The game’s official YouTube channel released 14 minutes of gameplay and fans liked what they saw from this meaty “Flesh” system. At around 1:40, fans get to see just how gory this game can get and it’s glorious.

Here’s how the Dead Island 2 Flesh system works. Fans simply have to aim at a specific part of the zombie and let loose with their weapon. It’s similar to the enhanced aiming system in Fallout 3 but with much bloodier results. Unsurprisingly, this has made zombie fans very happy — what sickos.

The fact that Dead Island 2 is still here is almost as surprising as this incredibly detailed gore mechanic. After a decade of delays, we finally get to see the game in action and it should be worth the wait. Who doesn’t love punching the face of zombies?

While popular, the original Dead Island was a pretty basic first-person RPG that didn’t do much to impress. Blood and guts were a part of the game but they didn’t leave an impact, especially compared to what the sequel is doing.

In fairness, the first game did get a good amount of support after its release. The game received an expansion called Dead Island: Riptide and even got a 2D spin-off called Dead Island Retro Revenge. (Let’s not forget the truly awful Escape Dead Island!) Despite its popularity, it took 10-plus years for the sequel to come out, due to numerous changes made by the publisher.

After an incredibly long wait, fans will be able to get Dead Island 2 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC.
