Cyberpunk 2077 is getting a new ending once the massive Phantom Liberty update comes out, adding even more ways to finish V’s story. Fans were already pumped up to replay the game for the expansion but this makes the base title even more enticing.

Game director Gabe Amatangelo told WCCFTech that there are multiple endings within the expansion and a new unlockable ending for the base game. Having multiple endings within the DLC is already pretty rad, let alone a whole new one for the game’s story.

Like the main Cyberpunk 2077 experience, the ending will be based on the relationships and choices made. With the Phantom Liberty expansion adding even more relationships and story choices, players have a whole lot to think about. Hopefully, this leads to something nicer for V.

"As the trailer shows, Songbird brings you in with the promise of being able to handle your issue with the relic," Amatangelo tells IGN. "It will affect outcomes in the base game [and] the story of Phantom Liberty within itself has multiple different variations of endings."

This makes a ton of sense since the DLC is set during the main game’s story. Usually, content like this would be seen as nice filler and nothing more but CD Projekt Red is going the extra mile. Now that we know there’s a new ending to get, it’s gonna make us try and replay the whole game from the start.

Phantom Liberty will be the ultimate update for this game, as it restructures the gameplay and even adds new features. It’s a pretty impressive sendoff for the game, especially with the way that it started. We’re pretty sure that the devs are going to nail this and it will be interesting to see that new ending.
