Cyberpunk 2077’s 2.0 update is a mind-blowing improvement for all

CD Projekt RED’s massive Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update is coming, and it’s absolutely gigantic. After a year of waiting, the colossal update improves literally every aspect of the sci-fi open world RPG game.

Revealed alongside a new trailer for the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty DLC expansion, the game’s 2.0 update comes to every Cyberpunk owner on all platforms. While we don’t know if it will fix everything about the RPG, it’s still a huge improvement.

In the trailer, we see entirely overhauled RPG systems, altering the current Cyberware mechanic as well as the base game’s underwhelming skill tress.

Cyberware is now far more advanced with different body parts having a certain number of slots for adding chrome. With more advanced mechanics, you’ll need to return to the Ripperdoc more often to change your play style, adding different enhancements for wildly varying play styles. There’s also the possibility of going cyberpsycho if you have too much chrome.

The game’s enhanced skill tree also comes with a new skill tree: Relic. Cyberpunk 2077 2.0’s skills add more movement tech and gameplay additions than before including airdashes, overlocking, launching bodies at enemies, and much more.

Another major addition in the 2.0 update is vehicle combat. In the new Cyberpunk 2077 update, you’ll be able to hack cars and cause them to self-destruct, attach weapons to your vehicles to gun down enemies and use myriad weapons from the driver's seat.

Furthermore, CD Projekt has also improved the police system in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0. Now, the Night City Police Department will be much more volatile, setting up roadblocks and choke points, and calling in MiliTech to take you on with city-wide chopper chases.

Alongside all of that, more weapons, vehicles, cyberware, outfits and more will also come to all players. For those who purchase the Phantom Liberty expansion, there will be even more to play with.

Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 launches alongside the Phantom Liberty DLC on September 26th, 2023.
