Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons was well-liked when it came out, but we doubt anyone expected to see this get a remake. However, if this leak is true, it looks like we’re going to get an announcement for this remake soon, especially with The Game Awards looming.

Gaming leaker and dataminer billbil-kun (via VGC) claims that a remake of Brothers will be made during the show, though they couldn’t get a release date. However, the leaker was able to confirm that 505 Games would still be publishing the title, which is interesting, to say the least.

Most of us didn’t assume that Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons would ever get a remake, especially since the original game is readily available for purchase. That being said, it has been 10 years since this title was first released, so one could argue it’s a fitting time for a remake.

For those unaware of the game, Brothers is a unique title in that it has players control two characters at the same time. Both characters are used on the same controller and players will need to use this unique method to solve puzzles. It’s a very unique game and one that has cultivated a decent enough fanbase, albeit, one that’s still shocked this could get a remake.

Josef Fares, a Swedish-Lebanese filmmaker, created Brothers for Starbreeze Studios before founding his own gaming company, Hazelight. Fares would gain plenty of success with the company, working on EA’s A Way Out and It Takes Two, the latter of which won Game of the Year during The Game Awards.

A remake for Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons wasn’t exactly sought for, but interest in this title could be high, assuming that the trailer is a good one. If anything, this does make The Game Awards a bit more interesting, though fans should take this with a grain of salt.
