Brazilian Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer has massive Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield hint

The second trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home has officially released. However, the trailer still hasn't revealed the appearance of Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield. But there are still hints for both Spideys’ return in the new movie.

While previous leaks have shown both webheads on set, alongside Daredevil's Charlie Cox, the new trailer refuses to show them. Nevertheless, it's quite easy to see where the older wall-crawlers fit in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in Brazilian Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer

While most fans watched the English version of the new Spider-Man trailer, Brazilian fans watched, well, the Brazilian version. Apart from being in a different language, the Brazilian Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer actually has a few differences.

Multiple scenes are different, even if sightly. These scenes are usually only a few frames longer or shorter than their English counterparts. However, one key scene is extended just long enough to leave a massive hint for Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire's appearance.

During the first look at the big final battle set piece between Tom Holland's Spider-Man, Electro, Lizard and Sandman it looks like something is missing. While Holland’s webhead moves straight for the middle, The Lizard and Electro are obviously aiming for different targets.

This is all-but-confirmed in the Brazilian version which lasts just a hair longer. The trailer shows Lizard attacked by an invisible force. Essentially, the trailer has painted out both Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire from this scene.

Does Marvel remove things from trailers?

Marvel has a history of editing trailers to throw off viewers when the movie releases. For example, Hulk fought alongside The Avengers in the first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War. This wasn't in the movie. Furthermore, Spider-Man's suit was changed in the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer.

These are harmless changes for the most part. With so many movies, and so many leaks, trailer edits are just one way to keep surprises upon a movie’s release. Additionally, they also lead to some fun fan theories.
