It’s been agonising for Xbox console owners having to wait for Baldur’s Gate 3 to make it onto the Series devices, but for those with the Series X, you can enjoy the game's physical edition across a whopping three disks containing all patches for the game.

This news comes from Baldur’s Gate 3 publishing director Michael Douse who took to X, formerly Twitter, to announce the juicy details. In the post, Douse seemed pleased with the studio’s work on this physical iteration noting that it is “really good news” for the much-anticipated launch.

Douse also stated that the team are “working on the exact version for PlayStation 5”. This suggests that they are potentially having some difficulties cramming all the content in, likely in relation to the all-important patch 5.

From Douse’s wording, it could allude to PS5 owners missing out on some content on the disks, but that will likely be confirmed closer to release.

While most would opt for a digital copy of the game, removing any need for the ancient disk swapping tech, there’s something about the tangible feel of opening the box and getting that fresh game smell.

This is especially true for Baldur’s Gate 3 since it borrows so much from the tabletop classic Dungeons & Dragons, and something fans of both franchises can be thankful for.

Bundled in the physical deluxe edition of Baldur’s Gate 3 are a bunch of other themed goodies. You’ll get the soundtrack on CD, a cloth world map, fabric patches, stickers, and a fancy poster, perfect for adding to your fantasy-themed collection.

What’s more, everything that was included in the Digital Deluxe edition is also part of the physical variant so you won’t need to worry about missing out.

All in all, while three discs is certainly a handful, Xbox players’ minds can be set at ease knowing that all content, including the latest patch for the game, is ready to go. PS5 owners will sadly have to sweat a little longer.
