Baldur’s Gate 3 is a true Dungeons & Dragons game, for better or worse. While new players will enjoy the bear sex, they might not enjoy the Karmic Dice feature that can make your game much more difficult.
Fans on the game’s subreddit warned new players to turn off the Karmic Dice feature when starting out. If the feature is on, players can take up to 400% more damage than normal from enemies.
What makes this worse is that the chance of enemies getting critical hits increases when you level up your armor. That means grinding it out won’t help you and might even be a hindrance if players keep this option on.
It seems that Baldur’s Gate 3 players will have a better time turning off the Karmic Dice when they start. Once players are used to the game, they can turn off Karmic Dice for another playthrough or even their current one.
All of these options are there for a reason since the game is meant to be replayed. There are 17,000 endings to get and over 170+ hours of cutscenes but players will need to replay the game to see them all.
Luckily, players that decide to dive into this game will be able to make a new character each time via the extensive avatar creator. Whether they’re a human, dwarf, or teafling, players can design them however they please. Also, they can change their junk, which is something all video games need.
Replayability is highly encouraged because the game has Origin Characters for those that want to learn more about the supporting cast. Shadowheart, Gale, Astarion, and more can be the lead character, though the devs suggest using a custom character first before using them. Sadly, we can’t change their junk but not everyone can be blessed by the character creator.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is coming to PC on August 3 and PS5 on September 6.
