Baldur’s Gate 3 quickly gained attention for the romantic, sexual acts players can engage in. (Ahem, bear banging.). What we didn’t know is that these intimate moments can be interrupted by a friend if they’re playing in co-op.
One fan shared how a friend interrupted their romantic moment while playing the game on Early Access. During a conversation that’s clearly intimate, we can see the friend of this player next to their character while this is happening.
This post on the game’s subreddit shows that co-op won’t actually interrupt the game but the presence of another player will make these parts awkward. Since there is going to be a lot of romance in Baldur’s Gate 3, that means more moments for your friends to interrupt you.
Naturally, fans of the game found this moment hilarious, explaining that the dreaded c*ckblock is now simulated in video game form. If you’ve ever wanted a Dragonborn to be your awkward third wheel, this is definitely the game for you.
“Looks like the exact scene where a quirky side character in an anime ends up being the main antagonist,” says Solugad.
“It is always really funny to see the other pcs creeping during intimate moments,” says MonsterMaud.
Seeing this is making fans wonder about other moments where friends can make things weirder. Just imagine that scene where the player has sex with a bear but your friend’s character ends up watching. Who knew Baldur’s Gate 3 co-op was made for virtual cucks?
Admittedly, all of this is in Early Access, so the developers in Larian Studios can edit co-op characters out during cutscenes. Then again, the game is coming out on PC next month so that might not be happening.
Romance getting interrupted aside, fans are going to spend a lot of time with Baldur’s Gate 3. The game will have 170+ hours of cutscenes, which was loudly boasted by the devs. Seeing a niche RPG like this get so much love has also excited and scared various game developers.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is coming to PC on August 3, while the PS5 version comes out on September 6.
