Avatar: The Last Airbender: Quest for Balance has been officially announced, retelling the story of how Aang and friends from the popular Nickelodeon series. It’s been a really long time since we’ve seen a console game based on this show and hope is high for this licensed title.

The game’s official trailer begins with that familiar narration of “Water, Earth, Fire, Air” before gameplay takes over. From what can be seen, players will be controlling Aang and his friends throughout the whole game, solving puzzles and fighting enemies.

IGN confirmed that there will be nine playable characters in Avatar: The Last Airbender: Quest for Balance. Confirmed characters thus far include Aang (obviously), Toph, Sokka, and Katara, with five unannounced surprises. We’re pretty sure at least one of those five will be Zuko, as the trailer shows him when he was in the Fire Nation before joining Aang.

Players are promised 18 chapters to play through, all of which can be replayed with friends after completion. This also hints that the game will let us play through it with any character of our choosing, which can be fun. Maybe we can have good Zuko fight bad Zuko to see which one is best?

Unfortunately, no release date has been revealed, though the game will supposedly come out this Fall. Hopefully, this ends up being a good game, as publisher Game Mill hasn’t always had the best reputation. Then again, fans do enjoy Nickelodeon All-Stars and Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3 so maybe they’re getting better.

Fans haven’t had an Avatar game since the PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube era titles. Granted, fans aren’t exactly nostalgic over those games since they weren’t very good, though we’re sure some are nostalgic over it. The Legend of Korra, an Avatar spin-off, did get a digital-only title from PlatinumGames but that has been de-listed.
