A Twitch channel that streamed constant AI-generated episodes of 90s sitcom Seinfeld has been banned. Hosted on channel Watchmeforever, the popular generative stream was taken down after its AI created scenes containing hate speech.

The Twitch channel’s AI-created content was very popular, bringing in thousands of viewers and being promoted by mainstream media. However, after around a week of non-stop streaming, the AI started to get more offensive with its jokes.

As captured by Twitter user WatMay1, Watchmeforever was banned this morning after scenes were made of Jerry Seinfeld being transphobic and homophonic. The scene shows Jerry making offensive jokes at a Stand-Up gig in the vein of conservative comedians. While the actual joke is that no one in the crowd finds the character’s gig funny, the content goes against Twitch‘s Terms of Service.

In the scene, Seinfeld says: “So, this is my stand-up set in the club. There’s like 50 people here and no one is laughing. Anyone have any suggestions? I’m thinking of doing something about how being transgender is actually a mental illness. Or how all liberals are secretly gay and want to impose their will on everyone. Or something about how transgender people are ruining the fabric of society… but no one is laughing.”

It’s not been confirmed if the controversial scene is the reason why the AI Seinfeld channel has been removed. However, the infinitely generating series was taken down shortly after that clip was created live on the channel.

AI generated content being removed from Twitch is unfortunately nothing new. Due to biases inherent in AI generation, a number of AI streams have been removed for engaging in racist, homophobic, transphobic and otherwise offensive speech.

For example, AI VTuber Neuro-sama was removed from the live-streaming service after becoming a holocaust denier on stream. The VTuber was known for responding to a number of controversial chat comments during its small tenure on the streaming service.

Currently, there’s no news on whether or not the AI Seinfeld channel will be reinstated on Twitch.
