When a huge leak makes its way online, there’s one easy way to discover its legitimacy. If the copyright holder doesn’t act on it, there is a chance it’s not real. On the other hand, if the copyright holder immediately DMCAs the leak, it’s likely very real. So, what did Sony do?
Well, in the face of a massive new leak for Spider-Man: No Way Home, Sony chose the latter. As new images of the movie make their way online, the movie studio has essentially outed the leaks at real.
No Way Home leaks inadvertently confirmed by Sony
Reported by The Direct, Sony is acting on the recent leaks of No Way Home. The leaks show Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Charlie Cox reprising their roles as Spider-Man, Spider-Man and Daredevil respectively.
The images were posted online by YouTuber John Campea initially believing them to be fake. However, the pictures were very quickly deleted by the YouTuber. According to Campea, the deletion was at Sony’s request.
In a livestream, Campea explained that he was contacted by the company asking him to name his source just five minutes after the photos were posted. The YouTuber then believed “these pictures are probably real," resulting in him to "immediately jump[ing] back on Twitter" to "delete them immediately.”
He explained:
“I post it, and then five minutes later, I get this call from somebody - I won’t say who - saying that, 'Yeah, uh... these pictures are probably real.' I'm like 'are you sure?' And, like... 'Uh, look, I don't know 100% for sure, but I feel pretty comfortable saying that these are most likely real. And I'm like, 'well, shit.'" So I immediately jump back on Twitter, again only about five minutes had passed, and I delete them immediately."

There were more leaks
Campea revealed that the two images he posted were not the only images he had access to. The YouTuber revealed that he has access to two additional images. However, they weren’t posted as the YouTuber was waiting to release the “juicy ones”.
“I obviously didn't share the other two pictures, and the other two pictures are the more juicy ones,” he said. “That's all I'm going to tell you, is that the other two pictures were the more juicy ones. But now that I know that there's a strong possibility that they're real, I am not going to be posting those."
Campea then went on to say that one of the leaks he saw “involves somebody in a mo-cap suit”. However, those were the only details he was comfortable sharing.
