Official HBO Max account retweets snide Snyder Cut post, sparking fan cancellations

Zack Snyder’s Justice League can't go a day without drama. Even after it's official HBO Max release, the heralded Snyder Cut can't escape the headlines. Unfortunately, today is one of those days.

Despite the Snyder Cut being a huge release for HBO Max, the director’s cut hasn't done especially well. Maybe that's not surprising; Zack Snyder's Justice League is a new version of a bad film in the eyes of many. However, that news has since been put on centre stage by the streaming service’s Twitter account.

HBO Max Twitter blasts the Snyder Cut

It’s never really quite the wisest idea to reveal that your product isn't doing great. However, someone in charge of the HBO Max Twitter account thought it was a grand idea. The Twitter account retweeted a post celebrating the success of some of the service’s films while blasting the Snyder Cut.

In the post, it's revealed that Wonder Woman, Godzilla Vs Kong and Mortal Kombat were the service’s best performing titles. However, the post ended with the line, “Sorry, #ReleaseTheSnyderCut bros!” This tweet was originally retweeted by the streaming service’s official account and then deleted after fan’s started to complain.

In response, fans of Zack Snyder's Justice League have responded to the original tweet with maximum upset. Hordes of fans have announced that they are cancelling their subscriptions and switching to Netflix. That rival streaming service will be hosting Zack Snyder’s new film Army of the Dead.

Snyder Cut drama

Zack Snyder's Justice League is constantly coated in a thick mist of controversy. Even with just this streaming service, the HBO Max boss started blocking SnyderVerse fans on Twitter.

Warner Bros is keen to move on from the events of Justice League. Allegedly, higher ups at the company are taking the failure of the movie personally. As such the studio isn't greenlighting any new projects that are set on original DCEU.
