With the PS5 launch upon us, mostly, lots of people have a new console and a new controller to mess around with.

The DualSense controller is an impressive bit of technology that is filled to the brim with design ideas meant to improve your experience and immersion.

That basically means that lots of people are going to be messing around with it in the coming weeks because they can and it's fun to do.

One of the things you can do is link it with the PS3, and if, for some reason, you feel like you need to give it a go, here's what you need to know.

Linking your DualSense to your PS3 is actually incredibly easy, and you should have basically everything you need. Well, assuming you have a PS3 and a DualSense controller.

All you need to do to perform this magic is to link the two via a USB cable.

That's literally it, once you've done that you'll be able to use the highest-tech controller with one of the most disappointing consoles.

If you're wondering what else you can link your DualSense to, then let us help you out.

Weirdly, you can't link it to your PS4, which is the console you'd most expect it to be compatible with.

The good news though, is that you can connect it to your Nintendo Switch and a PC if you've got the right equipment.

You can also use it to play games via xCloud, despite it being a service from Microsoft, and therefore something of a competitor to Sony.

None of this makes a huge amount of sense, but it is fairly entertaining to know about. We're looking forward to when somebody manages to hook it up to a Doom playing fridge or something.
