Cyberpunk 2077 vs LEGO City Undercover comparison video: Is Night City worse?

Cyberpunk 2077 keeps on grabbing headlines, but this is not one we were expecting to write: a fan has made a brilliant video comparing the new CD Projekt Red sci-fi game to, um, LEGO City Undercover.

Considering that TT Fusion released LEGO City Undercover way back in 2013, and Cyberpunk 2077 came out last month, you'd think there could only be one winner in this comparison of playable open worlds. But you'd be wrong.

Watch the Cyberpunk 2077 vs LEGO City Undercover video

Posted on Reddit and YouTube by a creator called 'waquzy', this video compares very specific details in Cyberpunk 2077 and LEGO City Undercover.

Things like the water physics and the AI powering NPCs feature in the video, and it becomes a recurring theme that LEGO City Undercover offers more interactivity with its world than Cyberpunk 2077. You can watch the video yourself right here...

Of course, Cyberpunk 2077 was aiming for photorealism while the LEGO games have their own cutesy art style going on, so you could argue that CD Projekt Red had a more complicated job to do than TT Fusion.

However, it is somewhat embarrassing for the new game when fans point out that years-old games had 'better' physics and details. It's certainly not a good look.

Will Cyberpunk 2077 get better?

CD Projekt Red, the company behind Cyberpunk 2077, have promised that lots of good stuff is coming: bug fixes, free DLC, next-gen upgrades and a multiplayer mode are all in the pipeline.

However, it's unclear if tiny details like the water physics are going to be improved in the open-world Night City. We really hope that does happen, because if a world doesn't feel quite right, players definitely notice - as this video proves!

We'll keep you posted with more Cyberpunk 2077 news as we see it. Watch this space.
