Amber Heard reveals Warner Bros wanted to cut her from Aquaman 2

Aquaman actress Amber Heard is currently Hollywood’s most hated actress. However, the B-Tier celebrity is currently still attached to the upcoming DC film Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the next film in the DC Extended Universe.

As it turns out, Heard’s role in the movie was heavily fought against by Warner Bros, the film’s publisher. After controversies surrounding Heard and ex-husband Johnny Depp came to light, the studio wanted to cut ties with both actors, but Heard made her way into the upcoming sequel.

Did Warner Bros try to cut Amber Heard from Aquaman 2?

Revealed in her defence against claims of defamation in court, Heard explained that she was originally cut out of Aquaman 2. After the actress accused Johnny Depp of sexual and physical abuse, and evidence released suggesting the opposite, Warner Bros did not want the actress in the upcoming movie.

Heard said on the stand that the studio “didn’t want to include” the actress in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. However; the actress “fought really hard to stay in the movie”.

Amber Heard explained that her role in Aquaman 2 has been significantly parred down from the first movie. As script revisions kept happening, her role was cut more every time, removing key action scenes and replacing them with other characters.

“I was given a script,” she said. “And then given new versions of the script that had taken away scenes that had action in it, that depicted my character and another character, without giving spoilers away, two characters fighting with one another. They basically took a bunch out of my role. They just removed a bunch.”

The extent of Heard’s role in the upcoming Aquaman movie is set to be determined. However, new reports have stated that the actress’ screen presence has been cut to less than ten minutes

Not Warner Bros’ only controversy

How Amber Heard managed to fight her way into Aquaman 2 is still unknown. With Johnny Depp cut from Fantastic Beasts 3 as soon as allegations surfaced, Heard must’ve put up one hell of a fight.

However, despite Heard’s prominence at the time of writing, the actress isn’t even Warner Bros’ only controversy at the moment. Outside of Heard, the movie studio is also dealing with controversies surrounding The Flash actor Ezra Miller.

In recent months, Miller has made headlines for multiple arrests in Hawaii. One arrest occurred after allegedly throwing a chair at a woman. The actor also received a restraining order after reportedly threatening to kill and bury a couple

It’s not known how Warner Bros will be handling its Ezra Miller controversy. On the other hand, it’s handling of Amber Heard will likely be the following: reduce her presence in marketing and cut her from the third movie.
