After stepping into the Metaverse with The Sandbox, Adidas is getting into the NFT game as well. Lately, Adidas is making headlines as the sports and lifestyle brand announced its first NFT offering. Adidas’ new Into The MetaverseNFT project offers fans access to “digital and physical” Adidas products and experiences. So, what exactly is Adidas into the Metaverse NFT? Let's find out!

What is Adidas Into the Metaverse NFT?

Into the Metaverse is a collaborative NFT project between Adidas Originals and NFT pioneers Bored Ape Yacht Club, Pixel Vault’s Punks Comic and crypto investor gmoney.

The NFTs went on sale on 17 December for the cost of 0.2 Ethereum. A total of almost 30,000 NFTs went on sale with 20,000 available for early access sales to owners of the special Adidas Originals tokens, gmoney tokens, Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs, Mutant Ape Yacht Club NFTs, and Pixel Vault NFTs.

In just hours after going on sale, Adidas sold out of 30,000 Into the Metaverse NFTs. The NFT holders will get access to four exclusive physical products, at no additional cost, in 2022. Moreover, the holders will be able to attend virtual events in the Metaverse throughout 2022 and beyond.

The four physical products are: The iconic adicolor Firebird tracksuit (track top and track pants, as seen on Indigo Herz and Courtney), a graphic hoodie (as featured in PUNKS Comic #2), and gmoney’s classic orange beanie.

How to Buy Adidas NFT?

Unfortunately, the initial NFT mint sold out on 17th December 2021. Although, you can purchase Adidas NFTs on secondary markets like Opensea. However, secondary market prices may vary greatly.

The official Adidas Originals Into the Metaverse on Opensea link is https://opensea.io/collection/adidasoriginals. This is the only page that the legitimate NFTs will be on re-sale. A legitimate Adidas Originals NFT collection page on Opensea will have a blue verified tick next to the page name.

As of now, Adidas has not confirmed whether it will offer more NFTs in the future. Since the first offering was a big success, we can expect more from them. Moreover, there are rumours of other NFTs coming in the near future. Let's just wait and see.
