Today, we'll take you through what we know about this particular problem, and what you might be able to do about it. Here's our update on the Warzone update loop error.

How To Fix the Warzone Update Loop Error On PS4 And Xbox One

If you are suffering from the perpetual misery that is the update loop error, the best advice to resolve it is to clear the cache on your console. In some instances, you may need to clear the cache multiple times between your attempts to load the game. If you aren't sure how to clear your cache, follow the steps below:

On PlayStation 4:

  • Turn off your PlayStation 4. Do not enter Rest Mode.
  • Once the indicator light on top of your PlayStation 4 is off and has stopped blinking, unplug the power cord from the back of your console.
  • Wait at least 30 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into your PlayStation 4 and turn it on.

On Xbox One:

  • Turn off your Xbox One.
  • Once the indicator lights on the front of the Xbox One and the console's power brick are off, unplug the power brick from the back of your console.
  • Wait at least 30 seconds.
  • Plug the power brick back into your Xbox One and turn it on.

In either case, unplugging the console for a minimum of thirty seconds is usually sufficient to clear the cache. As we mentioned above, you may need to repeat this several times before attempting to launch the game.

If this doesn't seem to work, then keep your eye peeled for any software updates for the game, and try to download and install them as soon as you can. And if you are really desperate, you can always try contacting the game developer for further support. You can message them on Twitter @CallofDuty or via their support website.

What Is The Warzone Update Loop?

Activision has, at least, included this on their list of known errors. According to them, the game appears to be uninstalling and then reinstalling game data, hence leading to the update loop. The issue does appear to be restricted to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 at the moment. Quite why this is the case, remains unclear, however.

Try the steps we've outlined above to resolve the issue. Given that this has already been identified and acknowledged by Activision, we can be optimistic that they are working towards a definitive solution to stop this irritating bug from impacting players. But until then, our solution is the most effective way to break out of the endless doom cycle that you're currently stuck in. In Call Of Duty terms, at least. We can't do a whole lot about the current political situation.
