The Splitgate server queue has caused extremely long wait times for players wanting to access the game. The level of popularity has forced the developers to place a lot more emphasis on trying to build server capacity, to try to improve this.
That work has now been completed, culminating in an update released on August 5th, which has led to improved capacity and stability in the game. But just how much of an improvement has there been? And what can we expect going forward? We'll take a look at what the queueing situation is like now, and how you can stay up-to-date on it.
How long is the Splitgate server queue wait time?
Since the update earlier in August, there have been significant improvements to wait times for players. The Splitgate developers confirmed that they capacity improvements should, in theory at least, ensure that wait times never exceed thirty minutes.
Subsequent Twitter updates have confirmed that this has led to encouraging results - so far. On August 6th, even with an all-time peak of concurrent users, the waiting time was still around the two minute mark. A significant improvement from the ninety minutes some players were having to wait previously. This was backed up by another update. This one confirmed another all-time concurrent user peak, and this time, zero queue.
At the time of writing, Splitgate was in the Top-30 of Steam's current player count, with a peak of over 58000 concurrent players. But while the early signs are encouraging, we all know that things won't necessarily always go so smoothly. So how can you stay abreast of what's happening with the Splitgate server queue?

How can I stay up-to-date on the wait times for Splitgate?
Keeping up to date with the status of the Splitgate servers and queue times is, thankfully, as easy as opening a portal and fragging an enemy in mid-air. There are two main sources of information you can access:
- The first is the Splitgate Status Twitter feed, which will provide information on game news and updates. This has also regularly updated players on the situation with the queue.
- Secondly, you can visit their Discord page to receive their most up to date queue time estimates. This will give you the most accurate information on wait times for Splitgate.
Hopefully, these updates mean that the days of contemplating watching an Avengers movie before actually getting to play Splitgate are now a thing of the past. As with all things, time will tell. But at least now you can find out how long the queue is going to be.
