When many developers release mobile versions of their games, they are often unoptimised, missing features, and incredibly buggy. PUBG Mobile, developed by Tencent, has managed to avoid these problems and is just as supported as the main game, with a new Season 14 update coming on the 14 July.
While all this support is fantastic news for fans, there's just one issue- downloading the update.

Not only are these updates pretty hefty, but mobile players often complain of slow download speeds when trying to update or install PUBG Mobile. If this is the case, here's some tips on how to fix it.
Check your internet connection
One of the most common causes of slow downloads comes from a poor internet connection. To increase the speed of your download, you'll want to ensure you have the best connection possible.
The easiest way to check this on your phone is to see how strong your Wi-Fi connection is. If it's fairly weak, then the simplest solution is to just place your phone closer to the Wi-Fi router while updating.
We'd also recommend avoiding using a cellular data/4G connection to download the latest updates, as not only is this likely to have a weaker connection, but could end up using all of your data.

Pause any other updates
Mobile apps have a habit of needing updating frequently, and if you have Auto-Update on or you selected 'Update All', PUBG Mobile may take longer to download as it competes with other applications in the queue for bandwidth.
You'll want to pause or cancel any other updates until PUBG Mobile has installed, as this will give the game priority over any other apps.

Turn on PUBG Mobile's Auto Update
Auto-Update will not exactly increase your download speed, but it might stop you from having to wait for updates to install.
If you turn Auto-Update on for PUBG Mobile, then as soon as the update goes live it will automatically start downloading the latest patch, meaning if the update goes live at an inconvenient time (eg in the night), it may have finished downloading by the time you're ready to play!
To turn on Auto-Update on an iOS device, follow these steps:
- Go to your Account Settings on the App Store/iTunes.
- Locate the PUBG Mobile badge and select it to enable automatic updates.
To allow automatic updates on your Android device, follow these steps:
- Go to the Google Play Store and select My Apps and Games from the tabs on the left.
- Locate PUBG Mobile and click on the icon, bringing you to its Play Store page.
- Click on the three dots in the right-hand corner and tick the 'Enable auto-update' box.
Close all other apps
If you are waiting for PUBG Mobile to download by playing other games, watching YouTube, or reading this article, it will have a negative impact on the download time.
If you close all other applications that use the internet (which is most applications), then the update should tick along at a faster rate.
