Apex Legends has finally arrived on Nintendo Switch.
Respawn Entertainment's hugely popular free-to-play battle royal dropped out of nowhere in 2019 and ever since the game has gone from strength to strength.
The meteoric rise has for some time been down to its growing player based on PS4, Xbox and PC; but the time has come to unleash the game on Nintendo Switch for some handheld mayhem.
Can you turn off Apex-Legends crossplay?
Although the game is available across a whole multitude of platforms, you might not fancy playing with all different types of console players.
Maybe you're not comfortable with playing against a team of players on consoles or PC who have better framerates and resolutions.
It's cool, we understand. Besides, we're sure there will be no shortage of players solely on Nintendo Switch. Which begs the question...
How to turn off Apex Legends crossplay on Nintendo Switch
For starters, yes you can play with just Nintendo Switch players.
The port was developed by Panic Button and their technical director, Andy Boggs, explained: “If enabled, it will match with people who have cross-play enabled, and if disabled, it will only match with other Switch players.”
So all you got to do is turn off cross play, which will be automatically be turned on when you start the game. If you want to turn it off or on, follow these steps:
How to turn off crossplay?
- Go to the lobby.
- Click the cogwheel (Game Menu) in the bottom left corner of the screen.
- Click Settings.
- Scroll down to Cross Platform Play (Beta).
- Click Enabled to turn it on, and Disabled to turn it off.
And that's it.
Unfortunately, there’s one drawback if you decide to play on Nintendo Switch - there's still no news on cross-progression for Apex Legends.
