How To Reset DJI Mavic Mini, Mini 2, Phantom 4 Drone

To reset a DJI drone using the DJI GO 4 app, simply follow these steps:

  • Install the latest DJI GO 4 App from the official DJI website.
  • Connect your DJI drone to the PC using a USB cable.
  • Open the DJI GO 4 app on your PC and go to the top left corner of the screen and click on Device.
  • Then, click on Drone Reset. A pop-up will appear now with multiple reset options to select from.
  • Select Factory Reset and press the shutter button for 3 seconds.
  • Once this action is done, your drone factory reset will be completed.
  • Finally, unplug the USB cord and turn off the controller.

How To Reset DJI Mavic Air, Mavic Pro, Phantom 2 & 3 Drone

To reset a DJI drone using the DJI Assistant 2 app, simply follow these steps:

  • Launch the DJI Assistant 2 app. If necessary, log in to your DJI account.
  • Connect your DJI drone to the PC using a USB cable.
  • On the bottom of the drone, press and release the power button then press it again quickly and hold it until you hear it make the initialization sound.
  • In the DJI Assistant 2 app, select your drone under Connected Devices.
  • Click Restore Factory Defaults and hit Confirm to start the factory reset process.
  • Wait for the factory reset process to complete. You will get a confirmation message once the factory reset process was finished.
  • Finally, click Complete to finish the process.

How To Reset A Drone Controller

Sometimes the controller might get stuck or the drone might not be responding to commands. In this case, you can reset the drone controller. To do this, follow these steps:

  • Power on the controller and launch the DJI GO 4 app.
  • In the DJI GO 4 app, press the ME button.
  • Now, press the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner and then hit clear cache. 
  • Once it is done, sign out from your account.
  • Double-click the physical Back/Function button on the upper left of the smart controller, which will bring you to the main screen.
  • Here, click on SETTINGS > Factory Data Reset.
  • Finally, confirm the reset.
