How to mod Blade & Sorcery on PC and Meta Quest

Like lots of other VR games, the ability to mod Blade & Sorcery offers a world of potential for players to explore. Changing weapons, skins, or even the physics of the game, lends a whole new dimension to the game. So if you want to explore the plethora of options that are available, our guide will explain everything you need to know.

Don't be daunted either; the reality is that getting mods for Blade & Sorcery isn't as complicated as you might fear. By the time you've finished this article, you'll be well-equipped to experience the creativity of the modding community.

How to mod Blade and Sorcery

As of the U12 update for the game, both Blade and Sorcery and Nomad, it's standalone port, have a Mod Manager within the game. While this doesn't have every Blade and Sorcery mod available, there's a great selection of mods that will completely change the game.

However, you can still mod the game using downloads from Nexus Mods, some of which aren't in the Mod Manager menu.

How to mod Blade and Sorcery on PC using Nexus Mods

Go to the Nexus Mods website, and browse the available mods for Blade and Sorcery. There are lots of mods to search through, and you can either search for a keyword, or browse through different categories such as most popular, new, or most trending.

Once you've found your mod of choice, here's what you need to do:

  • Start by reading the description of the mod, which will tell you what requirements it has in order to work properly. Make sure you have any other required mods before proceeding.
  • Assuming you have everything you need, go to the files tab.
  • You will now be presented with one or more files, categorized as Main filesUpdatesOptional filesOld files, and miscellaneous. Which file to download varies from mod to mod, so make sure you read the installation instructions, and follow the steps they describe.
  • If you are using Vortex, click the Mod Manager Download button on the file you want to download. This will open Vortex and begin the download.
  • Click the Manual Download button. A small window will open, where the download will either automatically start, you will be prompted with a donation request, or the required files will be listed. If it does not automatically start the download, simply click the Download button.

How to install the mods via Steam on PC

If you're manually download the mods from Nexus Mods, rather than using the Vortex application, here's how to install them. Once again, please take note of the each mod's ReadMe files (found within the folder) or the mods description to ensure its installed correctly.

  • The file will usually come as a Zip file so you will need to extract it.
  • Extract the files to your desired location. For most people, that will be the installation folder for Blade and Sorcery.
  • Once that is done, go to Steam and find Blade and Sorcery in your Installed Games Panel.
  • Right-click on it and go to Properties.
  • Under Properties, select the LOCAL FILES tab and then click on Browse.
  • This will take you to the location of your Game Files for Blade and Sorcery.
  • Now in the Blade & Sorcery file, go to BladeAndSorcery_Data > StreamingAssets > Mods. If you don't already have any mods, this will be empty.
  • Drag and drop the extracted mod files into this folder.

How to install mods via Oculus App on PC

Installing mods for the Oculus version of the game is fairly similar, but here's how to do it:

  • From the Oculus Software, go to your Apps and click on the three dots on Blade & Sorcery.
  • Click on Details.
  • This will open a side panel that will show you the location of the game files.
  • Now in the Blade & Sorcery file, go to BladeAndSorcery_Data > StreamingAssets > Mods. If you don't already have any mods, this will be empty.
  • Drag and drop the extracted mod files into this folder.

You have now successfully installed a mod! As we mentioned earlier, some mods are dependent on other mods in order to work properly. That's why it is essential to read the description for each mod you want to install, to make sure you have all the correct pieces in place. Otherwise, your mod is unlikely to work properly.
