Today brings the release of Microsoft’s latest entry in the Flight Simulator series, where it enables you to become the pilot you always thought you could be.
This is the fifteenth release, ever since its debut in 1982, and with the realistic simulations that the tech of 2020 brings, its also a very fun and immersive game that goes beyond what’s expected of a ‘flight-sim’ game, as the review for it have stated.
But with it being a Microsoft property, don’t expect to see it on Sony’s upcoming PlayStation 5 anytime soon, whereas it is confirmed to be coming to the Xbox Series X console soon.
With that, here’s a quick guide on where to buy it, how to install it, and where the ten-DVD-installation edition can be found.
Fight or Flight
Back in the day, it would be a method of going to the nearest PC store, walking up to the ‘Gaming’ aisle and finding ‘Flight Simulator 2000’ or whatever entry was available at the time.
But with digital outlets like Steam and the Microsoft Store, there’s better ways to install the 130GB size of the game in easier ways; you just need to make sure you have the space available.
If you’re a heavy Steam user and like to buy so many games during the seasonal sales, then buying the game on Steam would be the way to go. It would also be an easier way of joining friends in the multiplayer mode if you already have a substantial friends list after joining others through Hitman 2, GTA Online and many other multiplayer games.
But of course, if you have an Xbox, then it may be a wise move to buy it from the Microsoft Store. Either buying it directly or just using Game Pass to install the game, it will enable you to also play it on the Xbox when the time comes to its release on the console.

Size Matters
It’s surprisingly become one of the highlights of the year, and we suspect that’s mainly down to just how fun it uses its realism to keep you coming back for more.
This writer first played the series with ‘Flight Simulator 2000’ back in Christmas of 1999, and being able to fly over massive landscapes, while also being able to land and take off when needed, blew my 10-year-old mind, especially when it was only the PlayStation that showed me what 3D games could do at the time. So now with this ‘2000’ entry, it looks to amaze those even more.
The addition of the multiplayer only elevates it to being a game that you simply need to play as soon as possible. Granted, some of the DLC is questionable, but when you consider the updates that are coming, such as helicopters and VR support, it looks to be a perfect game to even mod, similar to those who have done the same for Sonic Mania and Grand Theft Auto V.
But right now, Steam and GamePass looks to be the best methods to play the game, and if it even reaches xCloud, then it looks to be the ideal showcase on how to play the game with others.
