Good news, most of the time your Fortnite game will update automatically. You can often check for updates by launching the game and as you do so you'll be told if you need to update the game first or not.

That being said, the games will often only update automatically if you've used them recently, so be sure to load in a few times ahead of the full launch of the next season, or you'll miss out on those first moments in a brave new world.

If, in a few very select circumstances, the update doesn't seem have appeared, we'd recommend manually selecting the game and going to its settings. Here, you should be able to press some sort of 'Check for Updates' button, depending on the platform.
