How To Fix Stuttering, FPS Issues And Graphics Issues
It should go without saying, but it's too important to ignore. Before doing anything else, make sure that your computer meets the minimum recommended system requirements for playing Dying Light 2. As with any other game, if your system can't meet the demands of the game, you are going to hit trouble. And it won't be trouble that can be fixed by tweaking a few settings.
We'll assume that you've already checked this before buying the game. And we'll also assume that your computer is up to the task of running the game. Now let's look at some of the ways you can optimise your settings to get the best performance for Dying Light 2.

Steps To Reduce Stuttering
There are several different steps to help improve performance in this regard:
- Start by making sure your graphics drivers are fully updated. If you have an AMD graphics card, check here. For Intel, go here and for GeForce, go here.
- Make sure that you've also updated your Windows OS, and installed any game updates. Techland has already released a number of hot fixes for known issues.
- Fiddle with your VSync settings. In theory, Vsync is actually meant to improve performance. In some cases however, it does the opposite. So try playnig with this, to see what works best for you. Techland themselves suggest enabling Vsync in the NVIDIA control panel, but only for Dying Light 2. And then disable it in the game options.
- Techland also suggest entering the following in the cmd command prompt:

- In theory, this will optimise PC power for improved performance in the game.
Framerate Advice
If you seem to be struggling with low framerates, then there are some other steps worth trying:
- Start by lowering some of your video settings.
- Try disabling DLSS. Again, in theory this is intended to boost performance. But in some cases, disabling it can actually improve frame rate performance. So see what works best for you.
- Close any unecessary background processes. These will draw resources away from Dying Light 2. The less you have going on in the background, the more attention can go to the game.
- Check the Steam guide for software that interferes with Steam, and disable any that might be causing a conflict. Most notably are things such as antivirus software, programs for VPN services, and software for managing drivers.
- It may also be worth verifying the integrity of your game files, to fix anything that might be broken. To do this:
- Restart your computer and launch Steam
- Next, you can either right click the game in your Library, or click the gear icon from the game's Library page on the far right
- From the drop down menu, select Properties...
- Select the Local Files tab and click the Verify integrity of game files... button
- The process takes a while, so wait for it to complete, then restart your system and relaunch the game.
- Finally, if you are using a PC that has more than one video card, ensure that you are using the dedicated graphics card to play Dying Light 2, rather than the integrated graphics card.
