How to fix Destiny 2 Error Code Bee: Fix constant game disconnections

If you want to avoid being stung by Error Code Bee the next time you play Destiny 2, then you've come to the right place. Errors are, sadly, part and parcel of gaming, arguably even more so when it comes to playing online.

But what exactly is Error Code Bee? We'll walk you through everything you need to know, to try to make this a thing of the past. You'll be back as a Guardian wielding Light before you know it.

What is Error Code: Bee in Destiny 2?

Error Code Bee is linked to network problems. It is caused by the same sort of issues that generate error codes Fly and Lion. Bungie describes it as being caused by:

General disconnections between you and the various routes your traffic takes across the internet to get to Bungie. This includes packet loss or disconnections between your home network and Bungie.

In summary: your internet connection isn't working very well, which is causing a breakdown in communication between your internet connection and Bungie's servers. This is nice to know, but what exactly can we do to fix it? Let's take a look.

How to fix Error Code: Bee in Destiny 2

Given that the problem is connection-related, the first step is to make sure your internet connection is working properly.

Try all the obvious things first - restart your router, disconnect and then reconnect your equipment. But also consider switching from a wireless setup to a wired connection, if you can. Likewise, if you are using a wired connection, try switching to Wi-Fi, and see if the error resolves. If so, it may indicate a faulty connection.

Bungie has also suggested that these sorts of errors can occur when too other devices and applications are using bandwidth. So try closing down any apps you might have running in the background, and disconnecting any devices that don't need to be online at that particular moment. Freeing up bandwidth may well resolve this error.

And finally, on the ISP front: Bungie has suggested that there is a correlation between this error code arising, and ISP outages within a particular geographic area. In this situation, there is little you can do but wait for the issue to be resolved.

Reboot and clear your cache

Restarting your console, and then clearing the cache to get rid of any faulty files, is also an option worth exploring. To do this, Bungie recommends the following:

  • Power down the console.
  • Once the console is completely powered down, unplug the power cord from the back of the console.
  • Let the console sit unplugged for at least 5 minutes.
  • Plug the power cord back into the console and power it on.
  • Re-launch the Destiny game.

If none of the above works, take a look at Bungie's Network Troubleshooting Guide here for further recommendations about how to set up your internet connection.
