Apple has revealed the latest version of the Macbook Air, with the popular slimline laptop now looking more swish than ever.

Weighing just 1.29 kilos, the new Macbook Air is still a light option, but it comes packed with much more cool stuff than the older entries in this product line. Read on to discover all the tantalising details.

New Macbook Air features

The 13.3” screen of the new Macbook Air boasts a resolution of 2560x1600 for over 4 million pixels, which means images and text will look sharper and clearer than ever.

The new Macbook Air also has the same 'Magic Keyboard' that you might've already sampled on the 16-inch MacBook Pro. This means you'll have a more comfortable and quiet typing experience.

The touchpad has also got 20% larger, giving your fingers much more room to manoeuver.

This new edition of the Macbook Air also has Touch ID, which means that Apple Pay and quick authentication are also being built in.

New Macbook Air specs

The hardware side of things is pretty damn impressive. You can find the full specs on the official Apple website, of course, but we'll do our best to summarise the key takeaways here.

The new Macbook air can support the Intel Core i7 processor, and it promises two-times faster CPU performance, 80% faster graphics performance, and up to 2TB SSD storage. It also has up to 16GB of high-performance 3733MHz memory.

The new Macbook Air is made from 100% recycled aluminium, making it the self-proclaimed "greenest Mac ever". The carbon emissions involved are said to be 47% less.

Input-wise, you're looking at two Thunderbolt 3 ports that will allow you to link using USB-C cables to all manner of other devices as well as your charger.

As for audio, you've got top-of-the-line built-in speakers, which will give you 25% more volume. There are three microphones and a 720p FaceTime HD camera, which should make those FaceTime calls more clear.

It's also said to have "all-day" battery life, which is a fair bit better than what the knackered old Macbook Air in our office can muster.
