Your HTC Vive VR headset has its own camera in order to track your surroundings, but how you can one use it?
The peripheral's front-facing camera has its own unique features and capabilities, and once you unlock how to use it, it's also another enthralling experience capturing photos in VR.
You only need to carry out some simple steps, then if you're done with those, you will certainly feel as though you will get your money's worth.
With that, here's how to use camera on your HTC Vive VR headset:
Activate the HTC Vive's camera
While the Vive features a front-facing camera, it can be a challenge to use it directly. Thankfully, their official HTC Vive support page has you covered.
Simply go on to your PC and open your SteamVR app, which can be found on the 'Desktop' or the Steam app. However if you still don't have it, you can download it here.
Click on the menu (the 'hamburger' three-lined icon) on your SteamVR app and choose:
- Settings.
- Select camera.
- Click enable camera.

Restart your SteamVR app
Once you're done with the above steps, restart your SteamVR app.
Once the app appears, repeat the steps:
- Settings.
- Select camera.
- Click enable camera.
This time around however, select the 'Allow Camera' in dashboard option. Upon choosing it, you can now enjoy using the camera on your HTC Vive VR headset.
